
SPARDHA
Society for People’s Action and Rural Development in Himalayan Area came into being in 1994 as a society under Society Act 1860, and since then it is engaged in the activities which enable rural people especially rural women folk to earn their livelihood. For this SPARDHA adopted promotion of bee keeping – Indica Cerena- in the region to bring extra income to the masses as well as to save the degrading environment

Uttarakhand, the land of Gods, the Devbhumi with the mighty Himalayas, blissful environment, life giving waters and diverse flora and fauna, as a land where sturdy, healthful people have enough time, money and resource to freely engage in activities advancing their material, mental and spiritual well being in a mindful interaction with nature. A land where the flow of migration is as strong as being termed exodus is arrested.
Vision
SPARDHA came into being with the mission and vision to change the socio-economic scenario of the Himalayan region and to protect the degrading environment of the Himalayas. The working area of the society is whole of Uttarakhand but it is mainly focused in hilly areas especially Almora district in Kumaun region of Uttarakhand. At Present we are working in the following development blocks of district Almora
